Nine integrated program areas delivering emergency relief and long-term resilience across South Darfur, Sudan.
Guided by our strategic plan, RRO delivers a coordinated mix of emergency relief and longer-term resilience programming across nine focus areas. Every programme is designed with community consultation at its core.
Improving access to healthcare services for vulnerable groups. We support mobile health clinics, nutrition screening for children under five, and referral pathways for IDPs and host communities lacking access to formal health services.
Supporting and developing the education sector for underserved communities. We rehabilitate classrooms, distribute school supplies, support displaced teachers, and run non-formal education for children who have missed schooling due to conflict.
Delivering food, emergency shelter, and rapid-response relief programmes. RRO field teams conduct rapid assessments following floods, landslides, and conflict displacement to identify the most vulnerable households and deliver timely assistance.
Enhancing water security through WASH infrastructure projects. Activities include rehabilitation of water points, construction of latrines, hygiene promotion campaigns, and distribution of hygiene kits to prevent waterborne disease outbreaks.
Supporting IDPs and disaster-affected populations, including voluntary return programmes; protecting children and empowering women. We run GBV awareness workshops, case management, and community-based protection monitoring.
Contributing to peacebuilding and strengthening social cohesion within communities. Through dialogue forums, inter-community reconciliation sessions, and youth leadership initiatives, we help rebuild trust in conflict-affected areas.
Implementing human development and capacity-building programmes for staff and communities. Training covers project management, first aid, GBV response, data collection, and community leadership to build lasting local capability.
Supporting agricultural and livestock production to promote self-sufficiency. We distribute seeds and tools, provide veterinary support for livestock, and link farmers to markets to reduce dependency on food aid.
Conducting research, studies, and social surveys to guide planning and attract funding. RRO produces needs assessments, situation reports, and policy briefs that inform both our own programming and the wider humanitarian response.
Every programme we design is guided by these strategic goals — they shape how we plan, who we prioritise, and how we measure success across every response we lead.
